RAKU WALK THRU
LABOR DAY WEEKEND
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 2
10 a.m. — 6 p.m.

ALL GLAZING MUST BE COMPLETED BY 3 p.m. to allow time for drying.
Everyone is welcome to experience the dynamic coming together of CLAY, FIRE, SMOKE AND WATER
in this one-day, hands-on, walk-in workshop facilitated by the BAC Raku Crew.
NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED
Just walk in, select and purchase a piece of pre-fired, handmade pottery, donated by the BAC potters.
($10 – $25 per piece, includes GLAZE and FIRING)
Select your glaze and apply it to your pottery.
Then watch what happens during this exciting outdoor firing process!
When the firing is complete, you will scrub the ash off in water and
uncover the exciting results.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
The entire process takes approximately 3 hours.

SCARECROWS, CORN & CROWS

To celebrate Buchanan’s annual Scarecrow event, students will create mini-scarecrows. They will design fabric for scarecrow clothing, and, using props and accessories, create unique personalities for their scarecrows. They will learn about crow habits and habitats, observe crows in art, and sculpt a crow. In addition, they will fashion a corn mosaic.

TWO THURSDAYS:
SEPT 21 and 28 4:00 – 5:00 PM

REGISTRATION REQUIRED BY SEPT 18.
